Norris Reservation - Norwell

Saturday morning we had confirmed plans to fish a kids fishing derby in Norwell. At the last minute we decided to change venues do in part after finding out it was a "longest fish" contest that did not included catching Trout. It was more or less fishing for Bass, Pickerel, etc...
At my brother's suggestion we tried a very small dammed pond called "Norris Pond" inside Norris Reservation. It's more or less a dammed brook that pools up to a small pond. I had Jr. with me so works were on the agenda. Jr threw a worm and bobber and I floated a worm off the bottom. After 20 minutes without a hit I tied on a black/silver Rooster Tail. The first cast I took I had a nice strike. The second cast my slack (from the wind) landed in an overhang. I lost the Rooster Tail). Next, I tied on another black Rooster Tail with a Brass blade. After about 3 casts I had a tremendous strike and landed a nice Rainbow with a great fight. I played him in the entire way for close to 5 minutes. 6# mono and he almost snapped it. I continued and landed 2 more, totaling 3. Pictured was the largest. Before we left my son had complained about not catching anything and on my last cast I hooked in again and handed him the rod. I brought it in, drag in all. Pictured is me helping him land it.
