Assabet River - Ben Smith Dam - Maynard

I stopped yet again to the Ben Smith pool and took a bunch of casts. The water is still high but dropping. I maneuvered myself into one tight spot and managed to take a couple of casts and managed to land a nice Crappie using the same black and gold Rooster Tail. In another spot down river 10 yards I landed a small Dace. On my way out I stopped p tot he dammed side of the river and took an additional 10 or so casts. No hits. I noticed a lot of fish rising for mayflies and other nuisance bugs.
