Again, back at the Ben Smith Dam. This time I fished the Falls and down past where I normally fish. After catching only one Fallfish I drove over to the other side of the river. I climbed down the bank and was able to fish the other side of the river that I have been looking at for years. I’m not exactly sure why I never went over there before, I never really needed to. But now, with the water so low, I was running out of places to cast. 6-4-2 was my ending creel. 6 Fallfish, 4 Largemouth, 2 Pickerel. The Bass and Pickerel were all pretty small. I did manage to pull in one long Fallfish. One Pickerel that I landed was bleeding from the gills. A bleeding fish is usually not a good sign. Unfortunately, I was forced into some emergency oral surgery to free the treble hook that was deep into the fish’s throat. Once released, he snapped back into action and swam away.
